The US is a big country, and each state has its own set of universities.

From the Ivy League to state schools, there are many different types of universities in America.

However, several of these institutions have been ranked among the top colleges in their respective fields because they have high standards for admission students.

Princeton University

Princeton University is a private Ivy League research university in Princeton, New Jersey, United States.

It has the largest endowment per student with $1.4 billion and offers 50 undergraduate and graduate degree programs to over 3,000 students from all 50 states and more than 100 countries on four campuses across New Jersey (Princeton/New Brunswick) and Pennsylvania (Philadelphia).

In fact, Princeton’s admission standards are so high that it can be difficult for them to accept students who aren’t already well-off financially or academically talented enough.

The average SAT score needed for admission into your desired major at Princeton is 990 out of 1600 points.

To put things into perspective, if you were applying as an average student on your own merit but had no connections whatsoever (and somehow got accepted), then getting into Princeton would mean that you’d have scored just above a top one.

Harvard University

Harvard University is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The university was founded in 1636 by clergymen who wanted to train a new generation of leaders for their church and community.

Today, Harvard remains one of the world’s most prestigious universities with more than 8,000 undergraduate students and 6,000 graduate students.

It’s also home to many notable alumni including former President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama, comedian Bill Cosby (who attended Harvard Medical School), actor Tom Hanks (who studied government at Harvard Law School), billionaire investor Warren Buffet (a class-cutter at Columbia), author Ernest Hemingway (who wrote “The Sun Also Rises” while attending college there) and Google co-founder Larry Page among others.
